A Spring Lily

A spring Lily?  I know, I know...these aren't lilies.  These are the pretty daffodils my granddaughter Lily and I picked this past weekend.  I've been anxious to have some of my flowers placed in the ironstone pitcher my husband brought home to me, you can see that here.  They look so fresh and pretty and I love the spring scent in the air.

Lily and her mom came for a visit this past weekend and spent a couple of nights here.  It was wonderful to have them.  Lily is such a sweet, loving little girl.  She loves to give hugs and tell you that she loves you.  She is near perfect in my eyes lol!!  Lily will be 3 years old next month and we can't wait to celebrate.

Lily was helping her mom make chocolate chip cookies.  (Ignore the walls haha, this is an area where the wallpaper was stripped and it looks horrendous!)

Hanging out with Sneakers.

This was Lily's first opportunity to drive her little car, she absolutely loved it.  The faster she could go, the better.  Katie was blocking the way which I don't think she appreciated, she had places to go and things to do.

She didn't go anywhere without her Winnie The Pooh backpack.  You'll notice her bubbles placed in the back of the car for future use.  It was a little chilly this past weekend so we had her bundled up.

These are the daffodils Lily and I picked.  She saved some for her mom.

A flower for her mom (and the bubbles in her other hand).  It's been too cold again to clean out the gardens, that and there are too many gardens.  This one is beside the barn.

Taking Blackie for a walk.

This is the first time on Poppa's riding lawnmower.  Don't worry...it's not running.

Chilling after a hard day's play.  She's prepared...she has her juice, a popsicle and she's watching cartoons.

I hope you enjoyed meeting Lily.  We miss her already!!!!

This coming weekend is the annual garage sale that the fireman hold in another community.  This is where we purchased our harvest table seen here.  I don't know if I can go through that kind of stress again lol.  What if I see something else I really, really want?  I had better keep my hubby close to me this time.

Thanks for dropping in folks, I love having you visit!

Tea Cup Exchange Goodies

Hi dear friends, recently I joined a Teacup & Mug Exchange at The Enchanting Rose.  This is the second time I have taken part and have thoroughly enjoyed it.  I have so much fun trying to find the perfect little gifts to forward to my new teacup buddy, also receiving wonderful goodies in exchange from a completely different teacup buddy.  It's a great way to meet wonderful new friends.

The person that sent these beautiful items to me was Karen from Texas, The Lone Star State.  The teacup and saucer are very pretty and I'm looking forward to enjoying a nice hot cup of tea and some delicious cookies that were sent to me.  Karen...these are one of my favourite cookies!!  It's been difficult not to open up the package but I needed to take my photos first.  I almost slipped up and ate them lol!!  I can see that Karen put so much thought into what she gave to me, it was so sweet of her!!!   I love everything and every little detail.

Beautiful dainty roses.

Some of the wonderful gifts I received.

I have never had this type of tea before and I'm really looking forward to trying it, I'm just waiting for that perfect moment when life isn't so hectic so I can sit down and enjoy every moment - hopefully very soon.  I love the little tin that the tea bags (sachets) came in.  I will definitely be putting it to good use once the tea is finished.

Yum!  What more can I say?

Karen sent these precious little paper doilies.  These are so sweet!

Karen also sent a beautiful doily in my favourite colour yellow.  I love all the beautiful details.  I believe the doily is made of white linen, it has a pale yellow trim.

There is actually four separate points to the doily but the fourth is hidden behind the milk jug.

Pretty isn't it?

This detailing is on three of the points.

This teacup exchange was such an enjoyable experience.  Thank you Stephanie for hosting this and all the hard work you put into it.

Thank you so, so, so much Karen for such wonderful gifts!!!!!!!!

Karen...I don't have an e-mail address for you.  I would love to have yours if you're okay with sending it my way.  Thanks!!

Spring Is Here

Hi Friends,

Today was a beautiful sunny spring day and I wanted to get outside to enjoy it.  The warm sun felt so good after having snow that just didn't seem to want to go away.  Today it reached 70°F.  I managed to sneak in a few minutes of tidying up a garden.  Lots of work to be done there.

Since it was such a lovely day, I thought Mr. Bunny (Copper) would enjoy getting out for his first run of the season, and boy did he run.  It appears he remembered his outings from last year because this year he didn't hesitate to take off running.  He also enjoyed being able to munch on the grass.  Ours hasn't had much of a chance to grow yet since we had snow not too many days ago -  so don't look too closely lol!!

Isn't he a sweet boy?  He has a very good nature.

He stops to clean often when he's out running around.

Stopping for a rest and enjoying the warm sun.

The cats were also able to get out for a bit on their harnesses.  Unfortunately, we experienced "Blackie's Great Escape".  He has a way of wiggling out of his harness no matter how you fasten it.   After I took him back to the house I decided to take Sneakers for a walk around the pond.  I'm glad I did.  Tons of goldfish were up near the water's edge.  Prior to this we had only seen a couple and with having Great Blue Herons coming for visits, I wondered if there would be any fish left in the pond.  Some of the fish were fairly large and were various colours, some quite beautiful.  I called my hubby over and as we walked around the pond we saw a few leopard frogs, some floating lifelessly in the water until we got close.  They're professionals at appearing to be dead.  We also heard Peeper Frogs from the marshy areas.  It was very enjoyable.

We have a couple of Blue Jays that visit the feeder regularly.  They do like to keep an eye on me when I'm watching them though.  I've been putting some peanuts out for them lately which of course they love, as long as the squirrels don't get to them first.  This one is obviously a bit tense as his crest is back.

The pictures are a little fuzzy as they were taken through the window and someone hasn't done their spring cleaning yet.  I'll have to have a word with my hubby lol!!!

Still keeping an eye on me...

This Black Bird visits a lot.  I'll just say it's the same one as I really have no idea.  It isn't mean the way that it appears in the photo.

I hope you enjoyed the photos.  Take care and enjoy your week!

Painting my Home

Hi Dear Friends!

I'm so sorry I've been missing in action lately.  I'm using up some of my vacation time to try to take a bite out of painting the house.  So far I have finished painting my dining room and I hope to be finished the living room later today.  The main section has been painted but I'm now working on the section with Some of My Favourite Things.  It should definitely freshen things up and guess what?...the wallpaper in both the dining room and the living room is completely gone.  For me, THAT'S EXCITING!!!  I will post some of the before and after pictures at a later date.  I still have trim and doors to repaint lol!!

Hang in there and please don't go away, I just love having you come for a visit.  I've been trying to get to some of your blogs but time is short as I work right into the evening.

I woke up to this beautiful sunrise this morning and it made waking up early worth it.  I'm not a morning person but things have been changing a bit.  Must be age!!  It wasn't near as vivid as the one I saw here (that sunrise was unbelievable), but beautiful all the same.  I appreciate them all.

The weather vane you see in the bottom left corner is that of a large wooden bird feeder.  Unfortunately, it's difficult to get to as the cedar shrubs have grown up around it.

Well folks, it's back to work for me.  My hubby has so graciously given me his cold.  He's been quite sick with it and today I woke up with symptoms.  I've been praying I wouldn't get it because there's just too much to be done.  Stay tuned and enjoy the remainder of your week!
